Catholic = Universal

To be a Catholic means to be receptive to the mystery of love. Catholic Christians believe that God, who is Love, has loved humanity to the greatest extent possible. In Jesus, the Son and Word of God made flesh, we see God loving weak, sinful humanity by giving us a savior who would save us by being our companion in all our struggles -- including the ultimate struggle with our mortality, our necessarily being subject to death. A practicing Catholic opens herself to the influence of God's love. Our life of faith is not a matter of "doing things" to make ourselves favored by God. That favor has been given to us already. We "do things" in a thankful response to the God who has loved us first.

God Bless You

The word "belief" confuses the issue because we are talking about religion, so it's misleading people into thinking that atheists BELIEVE something. It's actually just the opposite of belief. An atheist is one who denies the existence of a deity/deities and does not worship any deity. Since I have seen another mistaken opinion about atheists, if I had my druthers I would also add to the definition above, "...and that denial includes all the secondary characters connected with that deity". Reason: Some religious people automatically make a foolish leap and mistakenly think that if atheists deny God they must worship Satan. I don't know any atheist who worships ANYTHING, let alone a mythological being believers made up.

Unitarian Universalism = fascination/curiosity

"The important thing is not to stop questioning. Curiosity has its own reason for existing. One cannot help but be in awe when he contemplates the mysteries of eternity, of life, of the marvelous structure of reality. It is enough if one tries merely to comprehend a little of this mystery every day. Never lose a holy curiosity." -- Albert Einstein
