There's this guy in my building that I like. We flirt a little...ok, I flirt a little. We e-mail each other from time to time.. Ok, I e-mail him every few days and he replies. How can I tell if he's interested in me? How do I let him know that my interest in him is not friendship without getting egg on my face? Please only serious responses because I really like him.

It's most unfortunate that you both live in the same building, this could be cause for disaster or maybe a good thing. If your not the type to hold a grudge then when you are talking in the hall just ask if he's had dinner yet and if he says no, then that's the time to chime in and say, I've not eaten either, would you like to join me for dinner, I'm cooking? If he says he's already eaten and nothing to follow that, then give it up, but if he says he has eaten, but would like to take a rain check, that just means he want's to be friends and probably has no other interest. Now, if he has eaten and is interested in you, he'll come eat anyway just to get to know you. One thing you don't want to do since you live in the same building is force yourself on him or be pushy for something that's not there.

You could also invite some friends over to play cards and have some drinks and invite him. If he hangs later than the rest of the gang, your in like flyn, but if he leaves as everyone else does, you've just got the boot and he just want's to be associates.

Good luck to you.

Well, you have a crush on him and you want a possible more than friends relationship, so back that up by asking him to join you for coffee during lunch. Or rather yet, get him a donut or coffee when you stop by starbucks the next time and say, I thought of you when I saw the donut :p hahah okay that was cheesy but you know.. improvise

its always easiest to let feelings out over the internet i feel..
its very impersonal....
but then at least u get your feelings out...
especially if u do email this guy....or if u chat with him once in a while....let him know how u feel...SLOWLY..so he doenst freak out...and then if he likes u..he'll most likely say i like u too...or i knew u did......
but if he isnt interested...he might say i dont like you that way...which isnt great to hear...butttt
but yeah..give it a shot...u'll feel satisfied that at least u tried...
