you know how they claim to kill 99.99% germs, and since cause of acne is due to bacteria inside AND OUTSIDE your skin, do you think by applying it on your face, it actually helps your face on fighting acne, because you are at least getting rid of bacteria on the outside? can it also be used to prevent infections on wounds?

No, I have been working at Blake University for 13 years and I am a specialist in the field of teen acne. The most effective acne medication available to teens today is vinegar. Once daily, soak the infected area in a bowl of vinegar for approximately 4-5 minutes. Continue applications until infected area is clear. Vinegar is the most effective treamtent because it rids the skin of infected bacteria and oils. Therefore, cleaning pores and working hours after application. Hope this helps!

The underlying cause of much acne is hormonal, not from internal infection. The infection that does appear is the result of a number of complicated factors.

The skin on your face will not react well to regular applications of something that is mostly alcohol. You want your face clean, not sanitized.

In fact, using the hand sanitizer could worsen your acne.

Skin that is stripped of all oils will usually increase the production of oils. Remember, some amont of skin oil is a very healthy thing, and good for the skin (integumentary system).

So don't be a cheapskate with your face. There are medications and facial cleaning systems on the market that work quite well. But don't guess which one is right for you. Get in to see your family doctor and either have him treat you, have him recommend something you can buy without a doctors order, OR have him refer you to a dermatologist (best option).

As for wounds, again, alcohol damages (traumatizes) the tissue, making it harder for the wound to heal.

Better to use plain old bactine on a cut, and put a little triple antibiotic ointment on the wound before you bandage it.

IF you refuse to see a doctor about this, then ask your pharmacist for her best recommendation.

Hand sanitizer will dry out your skin, and acne is caused by bacteria in the pores. Sanitizer won't go into the pores to fight it, you need a facial wash which specifically fights that.

No, there are other ways to treat/prevent acne then hand sanitizers. The overuse of antibacterials can be harmful when it upsets the balance of good bacteria that naturally exists on our skin.

Please, just avoid salted snacks---a lot of iodine in salt can be bad for skin. Use a good antibacterial soap. And if it does not better, please see a dermatologist. You may need a special antibiotic treatment. Hand sanitizers can be good for simple germs, but you may need somerhing more specific ( I had to take
tetracycline for a few months). Good luck!

No; in fact, they can dry out your face and make things worse, as a dry face will produce more oil.
