I have the same problem, I call it teen-age skin *grin* Oily, with dry flakes from the dry winter air, styling products, and blow drying - go figure.

My best solution? When you wash your hair, use a good clarifying shampoo and make sure you rub your scalp really good with your fingertips which will help remove the skin flakes. Then condition only the ends of your hair, not the scalp (this will reduce the lank, oily look of your hair by the end of the day).

If you are still flaky/sandy try using a two-in-one dandruff shampoo (Pert Plus is good) for a week or two to see if it helps. These shampoos are medicated to cure dandruff, so if your scalp doesn't improve, you might want to see a dermatologist.

DO NOT USE HEAD AND SHOULDERS! Selsun Blue is a good shampoo to use, since it's medicated and helps with dandruff control while head and shoulders creates a "film" like layer on your scalp and it just hides the fact that you have dandruff and it's just terrible! It's not good for your hair or scalp since it won't breath! L'oreal professional also makes a good anti-dandruff shampoo! It's the intense clear one and that's really good! I used to have crazy bad dandruff, and I used it and then 2 weeks later it went away! I only wash my hair 2x a week btw. So try that stuff, and it SHOULD work. It's medicated as well. You can also use the dandruff shampoo from AG and it's also good too!

Washing your hair everyday is not good for it or you scalp it actually will cause it to become more oily. Ditch all your fancy name brand shampoos and conditioners. Get a bottle Suave (for oily hair it's the cheapest brand at wal-mart) shampoo and a bottle of Sea Breeze. Wash you hair no more than 2 or 3 times a week at the most. Follow the instructions on the sea breeze it will prevent your scalp from itching while it stabilizes.

i didnt have dandruff either and i thort i didnt have nits so after months of torturous scratching my sis was doing my hair and said i had a bad nit problem. all the nits in my hair were hard to spot before they started to lay the eggs because my hairs dark curly and long. it was so disgusting strand after strand was covered in little sticky white eggs. the ones that were hollow were ones that had already hatched! even if you dont think it might be headlice try teatree oil shampoo and conditioner and comb with a fine comb reguarly it might relive your dry scalp as well. it takes a while but youll feel much more better

Have your Mother check your head for Head Lice's.
They sell shampoo for it at the shopping markets,
or drug stores.
It could be the shampoo, or things you use on your hair.
