Because once Adam sinned, God had no choice but to condemn him to the grave. After all, God can not just watch man running around down here knowing good AND evil and living perpetually in a state of evil.
Because of that, we all die. Because of that first bad decision, bad things have to happen in the world.
Satan is loosed upon the world and we are being systematically led down to path to global annihilation; all of us headed towards a super-duper-intergalactic showdown to see who actually gets the throne in Jerusalem; the Christians, the Jews, or the Muslims.
The good news is that it will all come to a head someday soon. Only then will we finally all get along in peace.
Then we will ALL know full well who redeemed us from that original quandary and just who our God really is.

For the same reasons that Christians cannot live in peace with other Christians.
They are all people first before they adopt a religion and people fight wars and disagree, not religions. The Muslims accept all religious books and prophets from the other two as being part of their theology and still Muslim will fight Muslim. Not for religion but because they have other agendas.

A very wise man once described the world and its various religions to me as a huge wheel with lots of spokes. (Think of an enormous bicycle wheel) The center of this wheel is God. Each spoke represents a different faith/religion/spiritual tradition. When each spoke is closest to God, it is also closest to the other spokes. Likewise, when each spoke is closest to another spoke, it is also closest to God.
This made great sense to me.
I sometimes think of Jesus and Buddha in the same room together. I highly doubt they would call one another names and start into fighting. I think they would embrace each other and have a really great conversation. Probably over tea, with some really rad scones.
When I think of the people that I admire the most, people who I would consider to be truly wise and holy (the Dalai Lama, Ann LaMott, Thich Nhat Hanh, Leonard Cohen) I can not imagine them slinging mud at others, even if what these others believe might not be what they believe. To me, the sign of a wise and holy person is someone who would much rather listen than rant, someone who is much more likely to notice the similarities between people than the differences.

there is too much hate out there. i know that full well. i am half gypsy and am LDS. i wish this hate would stop. people want to convert others to their religion. but it seems like most of the time even if they mean well, they do it in such a way that people are put off by it. why would i want to join a your religion if you are screaming in my face. anyway i think we should accept that people have other religions and accept them as human beings.
