Like all of humanity, autism can be beautiful. The autistic person deals with a lot of ignorance their whole lives because people aren't willing to learn about them and accept their differences. Do you know how it feels when you are misunderstood? Imagine that for your whole life and with nobody even trying to understand you. That's how it is for many autistics. A lot of them are comfortable with who they are and have been able to adapt to a society where they are usually unwelcome by acting more "normal".
I think being neurotypical can be torture because you often miss the beauty of humanity and people who don't think and act just like you are dismissed. I would hate to live my whole life missing those things.

I think difficult would be closer to the word. You can think of it as a gift if you would like. Some people with autism have abnormal abilities (which you could consider a gift) usually in mathematics and sciences and are called savants. Just think of the movie "Rainman." Denis Hoffman was a savant.
