Evolution is not about the birth of the universe. Evolution is the change in organisms over time. The birth of the universe is cosmology not biology. All the evidence points towards the Big Bang, the sudden expansion of time and space as the starting point of the universe about 13.5billion years ago. The theory has made predictions which were found to be true and it is not contradicted by any evidence so far.
Should evidence come to light that does contradict the Big Bang theory then the theory will have to be changed or chucked out and a new theory that fits all the evidence will be proposed and tested. This is the way science works.
Creationism is not science and nor is intelligent design (which is just creationism in a new frock). Science starts with a hypothesis and tests it against the evidence. If the evidence shows the hypothesis to be wrong, the hypothesis is rejected. Creationism starts with a hypothesis but if evidence shows the hypothesis to be wrong it is the evidence, not the hypothesis, that is rejected. This is not science.

Evolution is NOT an argument for origins. It is simply an attempt to explain how life came to be. It does not pretend to explain how the universe began, nor how Evolution, itself, started.
Creationism and intelligent design (the dumbed-down, politically correct version of creationism) are the only theories that propose answers to how the Universe was formed.
Even the so-called "Big Bang Theory" isn't a comprehensive theory, but rather an explaination of how evolution DOESN'T explain creation. The "Big Bang Theory" simply explains that an non-specified catalyst would be needed for the formation of the Universe, before evolution could even begin.

evolution and intelligent design are the creation of people or organisms, not really of the universe. regardless.
some reputable scientists say well maybe it just always existed. seems too simplistic, but is maybe good as it is what a lot of us just assume of/ naturally feel. and is no less silly to think it's always been there than talking about 7 days or some great creator. Maybe there really is no mystery and everything just is.
another science theory is circular like a snake that eats it's tail so the begining and end are the same place.

Creationism is a at the same time true and a mistake because they realy think that it happens in 6x24 hours. But Peter said "Dont forget beloved that for God, a day may be thousand years and thousand years are worth one day" This means that 1E-43 seconds (0. 42 zeros1 sec.) which is the Big Band is The First Day and 9 Billion years from the appearance of the first unicellulars life to now is 1 day too... The second mistake is that in Genesis, a translation error happend when they say that "the spirit of God was over the water" instead of the "waves" wich means the original radiation of the black matter composing 99.99% of the Universe. The second mistake is that God created man before woman because the woman is XX and God took a rib af the woman to make of her a man wich is XY. Crazy, isn'it

Evolution has absolutely NOTHING to do with the origins of the universe.
There's the Big Bang Theory. Then there are some other ideas, like oscillating universe, multiverse, etc, etc.

Just so that you are not confused about your terms:
Evolution does not explain the birth of the universe, only the development of life. Also, creationism and intelligent design are synonymous with one another, so it is redundant to mention both.

One theory that I read about involved Billy Corgan mating with an asteroid....and he whined the first molecules into existence. Those molecules because the persecuted Christian majority.

Please slap your science teachers. EVOLUTION DOES NOT (I repeat NOT) EXPLAIN THE ORIGINS OF THE UNIVERSE!!!! It is merely an explanation of the change and development of the species over time.
