May the peace, blessings and mercy of God be upon you
Yes there are two kinds of Jihad, but that so called Jihad by Osama Bin Laden and his deviant Al-Qaida sect are not a Halal or 'legal' Jihad. What they are doing are crimes, that include murder, for which they will be judged by God for on the Day of Judgment.
All the Scholars of Islamic Jurisprudence have consensus that only a RIGHTFUL leader of an Islamic Nation may call for Jihad. But he will bear the burden for his decision on the Day of Judgment.
Please read this page, which a scholar clearly explains using Islamic Legal principles in English to show why the Deviant UK based sect who support Al-Qaida and are not following properly.

This is the saying of Prophets of Muslims that the Maor Jihad is the battle with oneself(of not doing wrong, how can you know you are doing wrong just ask yourself)and the minor jihad is the battle with others in the name of religion.

You got it right :)
Major Jihad is the hardest thing to do...battling the ego for the enlightenment of one self.
Minor Jihad...is easier. Its the act of getting up and defending your beliefs in the face of oppression in the presence of a REAL war.

While it is true that most Muslim apologists would state that there is a greater and a lesser jihad, traditionally the concept of jihad has been predominantly that of military warfare. In fact, it has even been stated by some that this dichotomy rests on a spurious and unreliable hadith.

All parts in the "Holy" books like Quaran only talk about what you refer to as "minor jihad" none speak about the other.
the reason for that is because the "major jihad" was created to make the west think that Muslims can be nice...

i'm an atheist and that i've got examine the two the Koran and the previous testomony (that's incredibly Jewish faith). definite, the OT has many barbaric issues in it nonetheless fewer and much less grotesque than the Koran and Shariah. yet on a similar time as almost all Christians now evaluate the OT it previous and flow by potential of the recent testomony, the Muslims follow the Koran and Shariah actually and stone women to death, cut back "infidels'' throats in the line and behave like wild animals whilst a newspaper publishes a caricature, or a instructor names a Teddy bear Mohamed. to no longer point out consistent murders via the international. subsequently they are despised and prevented via the international. awaken lady and go searching you.

The religious meaning if Jihad is only relevant to the point of use, as in, If a million say it's internal, and 10 make headlines suicide bombing..... When we look for condemnation, we get.... crickets...... kinda makes one not care as much about other definitions..

The inherent meaning of Jihad is Struggle Against the Self. It means protecting oneself from sinning, answering misconceptions about religion and answering people's questions about it.
It begins with the self - one must learn to protect one-self from the temptation of sinning and that can mean so many different things as it includes all sin.
Suicide bombings, murders and plane crashes have nothing to do with this concept, absolutely nothing. That is plunder, cruelty and genocide in the eyes of Islam.
As for its battle form: That only applies to people who are being murdered for their RELIGION and they decide to fight back to save their lives and those of their brothers.
So terrorism and bombings are (sadly successful) attempts to malign the name of Jihad and Islam. Relatives of victims will come to hate Muslims because so-called "Muslim" terrorists kill in the name of Islam - I do not blame those who end up hating Islam. They are too affected by their loss to study it on their own (and you cannot blame them) -the accursed ones are the terrorists who are leading so many people to think that this simple concept is "holy war", when all they do is murder.
Cheers & God bless.

Jihad has a great significance in the lives of Muslims (Submitters in English).
Jihad Means:a sincere and noticeable effort (for good); an all true and unselfish striving for spiritual good.
Jihad as presented in the Quran and any of the other scriptures implies the striving of spiritual good. This Jihad particularly involves change in one's self and mentality. It may concern the sacrifice of material property, social class and even emotional comfort solely for the salvation and worship of God ALONE.
Jihad would be to exceed in the sincere act of good deeds (to frequent the mosques that worship God alone more often; to study the scripture in detail, to help the poor and the orphans, to stand for people's right for freedom, be equitable, never bear witness false testimony, frequent and stay in good terms with friends and neighbors, etc.) and the restraining of the doing of sins (to commit adultery, to steel, to lie, to cheat, to insult people, to gossip, etc.);
Jihad also includes the striving and establishing of justice. Before one can strive for justice in his/her community, justice must be one of his/her main religious and moral principles.
Jihad may also reflect the war aspects in Islam (Submission). The fighting of a war in the name of justice or Islam, to deter an aggressor , for self defense, and/or to establish justice and freedom to practice religion , would also be considered a Jihad
In short JIHAD is tha war to destroy evil in the way of Allah.(War here is not the physical destruction ).It is the fight with his evil deeds and habits for the sake of Allah's Grace.
