I'm renovating my apartment and gonna go with a blue shade for paint(not for sure which yet) with a white border. In the meantime I'm also looking to replace some furniture, preferably the dining room table and purchase a coffee table. I'd like to hear your thoughts on should I go with a color scheme to match or not to match?

Matching and not matching are both highly overrated.

get furniture that fits your needs, your tastes, your lifestlye, and your room. If it does that, then matching, contrasting, and clashing will be totally unimportant. If the furniture doesn't suit you, then no amount of matching will make up for the fact that you bark your shins on it, can't open the drawers, or feel awkward sitting in it.

I'd choose something that off-sets the blue. A coffee brown sofa set would be pretty and would add a lot of character. Get what you like really, I wouldn't get red or anything because that would be hideous but there's some really neat color schemes that people would never even think of that look really pretty together.

I'm not sure what your style is, but I would recommend complementing your shade rather than matching. Maybe use a darker wood with some yellow or orange (purple, if you prefer cooler colors).

with blue and white, consider using shades of grey, slate, silver, chrome for a complimentary scheme.
