The suicide rates vary for each culture and country. The USA posts the rates on line as four male suicides for every one female suicide and two white suicides for every non white suicide. The disorder is a result of the society and culture . As a major cause of death for white male teens suicide is rather high but I don't have that figure. I worked out a ratio once of one suicide for every twelve births in the US but that is only a rough calculation.

Suicide is the second leading cause of death for young people 12 to 21 yrs old in the US. Think about that. There is only one other thing that young people die of more then killing themselves.
My son died by suicide in July 2005 and I attend SOS groups and get these stats.
