First, turn off the computer and TV and in the future don't use computer or TV within an hour of bedtime. The TV especially can excite areas of the brain that don't "wind down" easily.
Secondly, you can try melatonin. It is a natural supplement that you can find over the counter at a pharmacy or health food store. It is safe for children and adults, but if you are a minor you need to ask your parents before you use it. It is best if you ask a doctor or pharmacist about dosages. I've heard a doc say no more than 1 gram if you are under 18. You take it 30 minutes before bedtime.
Third, if you pray and/or meditate, then try doing so when you don't think you can sleep. Its ok if you fall asleep in the middle of praying - God knows you need the rest.

HATE that! Counting sheep doesn't help, that's for sure. Try saying a little prayer/mediating, or listening to slow music in bed until you fall asleep. Try someone relaxing, like Norah Jones or Corinne Bailey Rae. Since you can't sleep, and you probably won't be sleeping for a couple more hours, do something you've been putting off for a while, like cleaning. Hate that, it bores me! I don't know, you could watch a boring movie, you'll want to sleep for sure. Look through the movies you have..make sure it's something that'll make you snooze. Also, ask your doctor about this, I know I should, I need professional advice...Hope this helped =] Oh, also try this website I found: http://food.yahoo.com/blog/beautyeats/746/top-10-foods-for-a-good-night-s-sleep
Goodnight!

Have you tried warm milk. Could try counting sheep. Relax your mind. Stop thinking about what ever is running through your brain. Listen to soft music or light jazz. If music bothers you if you know something bores you to tears try to do that.

Just imagine your professor lecturing on and on and on. If possible listen to a tape of it. This usually puts me right out.
