For example: I used to ask my ex-husband what I should do about a situation, or what color dress I should wear, or if I looked fat in my jeans, etc. He used to tell me all the time that it didin't matter what he said because I had my mind made up already. I usually knew when I asked him that it didn't matter what he said, but I would ask him anyway. I've witnessed more women than me doing this, and I was just wondering, what's that all about?

I had to laugh on this one because I have never questioned that behavior, and I do it myself constantly. Personally, i believe that I ma asking the opinion nof a man just to be consoled. I am talking to him and venting out my frustration, so i can get it out of my system. It all depends on the situation and the man. Their are men who give excellent advice, and their are men who dont do as well in that area, but sometimes you just want to talk fro the sake of knowing someone is listening. Hope that helps!

Well I got quite close to your situation, to go off hentai, just leave it alone, turn off your internet when it gets serious, and if it's really bothering you, then read or go watch a movie. After a while it will become less and less important to you, and when ever the thought pops up, just go do something that will occupy you time. After a few months, you should have it off your mind.

we want to get some assurance from that person and its actually true that we already know the answer. we just get their say about it but then dont actually care since we already made up our mind. its almost synonymous when we ask advice wherein 99% of the advices we hear are actually the same and that in the end we will not do it.

I don't know, but I use to tell my ex wife and my ex g/f that all the time. It is great to see at least one women can admit to it.

oh and you left out the part about there is no right answer, anyone we give will be the wrong answer. example if you say she looks fat in those jeans, your in trouble, but if you say no, then she's mad because your lying to her.

One of the women from desperate housewives made a book about stuff like this. I think her name (in real life) is Felicity or something like that. (someone plz correct me if I'm wrong).

My prob is the other way around. When guys ask me what's wrong I avoid telling them cause I know the end result will be they won't listen, won't help, and/or won't care. This came from a lot of personal experience

I got pissed off when I read your question; until I remembered all the times my bf accused me of the same exact thing. Its like we don't know we do it, but they know we do it. I'll say to him with all honesty, what do you want for dinner. Then he'll tell me. Then I'll say, no I want __ __. He'll say, why do you bother asking me??? I get so mad but I really want to know what he wants!! But we always eat what I pick.

hehehehe

this is funny. Lets not look too deeply into this..

Think "sounding board". We like to compare, which is different from sincerely asking advice. Opinion and advice are very different.

Well deep down we do listen. We may not knowingly listen but we do.
