I am just curious, I am trying to get down to my perfect ideal body weight and am very concious of what I eat now.
With excercise and eating right, do you have a really good feeling mentally afterwards? Like a natural high all the time?
is it really important to reach your perfect weight for this?

One feels much better, healthy and charged with energy when height to weight ratio is maintained. Also positive attitude and busy schedule too is important.

You feel happy on a normal basis as you know in general terms that you are currently free from obesity related illnesses. I feel mentally relieved if I eat something healthy as opposed to the fried food etc that is also on offer at that time. I do not feel a natural high, because of my job and related stresses, I feel pleased with my self if I've just done 30 minutes of good old fashioned jogging excercise, but when you reach your perfect weight you will find something else a new goal to work towards,
to be honest you think less about your weight and more about other things once you have reached your ideal weight, weight is very personal and its about what I can do and can't do, unfortunately this is very much vanity in its purest form for me and I agree with Wishnu that mental health is a more difficult goal to maintain regarding a natural high,

knowing that you eat healty and excerise will boost up your mentally. Knowing that you didnt choose to eat pizza, hamburgers, hot dogs etc and instead had a great salad and lean meat will give you an accomplishment .And when you start fitting into clothes 2-3 times smaller you will really have an ego boost.

But remember nothin is perfect as long as you get to your ideal body weight.. and hopefully thats healthy..you should be happy. I know when I lose 10 lbs I'm goin to be estactic.

Good Luck

Feeling happy with the way you look will do wonders for your mental state. Being able to look in the mirror each day and think nothing but positive thoughts will put you in a better mood, make you more confident, and boost your general sense of wellbeing. You'll also feel lighter and more energetic.

Just don't start thinking that you *won't* be happy unless you lose the weight. Being comfortable with your body is only one tiny part of happiness, and it's certainly not essential to a great mental state. Remember that it's what's in your head, not what's in the mirror, that counts!

i don't know how it is if u just have perfect weight but ugly body. cos i have perfect body and appropriate weight. so i say yes, i feel mentally high and superior when i am at gym (that's why i love to go there every day) and look at myself in the mirror there or when i go out on weekend with make up and nicely dressed in tight outfit. all the rest of the time i feel normal. but anyway superior to fat potatoes

the only people who say that its not about you being in good shape physically well they're in bad shape. You feel a lot better about yourself when you treat your body right. You feel better just in everything you do plus you get the bonus of seeing how good you look.
