We all know that everyone can feel certain about being right and in reality be wrong. I am an atheist. But I know I could be wrong, and that I would be damned to hell if Jesus is God. I am open to finding evidence that he is real, because I would hate to life a life inconsistent with reality. In fact, as a scientist I highly value being shown I am wrong because I will learn something.
Are you like me in the sense that you are willing to forsake your beliefs if you found evidence that would prove you wrong? Secondly, do you seek evidence outside of your religion in hopes to being proven wrong, just in case you do not have the correct view of reality? (Please Describe).
If you do not, what keeps you from doing so? This is an honest inquiry, and so please reply with existential honesty.

Once, when I was little, I was playing hide and seek in a cemetary behind the Presbytirean church on the corner. I stood on one of the gravestones and jumped while my friend waited his turn on the other side. The headstone came off the base and landed on his legs. He wasn't hurt! I couldn't believe it. My older brother helped me get it back in place.

Well, so far you scientists have not been able to prove us wrong. In fact I watched a documentary which had scientists who had found evidence of Noah's Arc and the flood. They found rocks of salt on top of one of the highest mountains which proved the earth was flooded, not only that, they found lava from a volcano that was in a shape that could only be formed under water, and many more things. Let me ask you this, if you say there is no God, why is it that when a person who has never been religious in their life, who listens to heavy rock and roll, and a big time party animal, gets saved and their life starts to change within that year? They are not doing it because they have to, it is the Holy Spirit who convicts them and shows them the right ways. Also just because you don't believe in God or in hell, does not mean you wont go there (judgement day and hell). The Gospel of Jesus Christ with the gift of everlasting life is offered to everyone. It is up to each individual if they accept it or not. I chose to accept it. I only hope you will too.

I don't mind a clear thinking person like you a bit this is the most intelligent question Ive seen posted by an atheist on this site. I have been a Christian since I was a young child although not one that practicied my religion for many years, until about 2 years ago to be exact. Yes Ill admit and had said for years that there are many religions out there and they all think they are right and the only one that is. I used to think, "you know maybe everybody is right in their own way", and thats why I stayed away from church. I would think what makes me right and them wrong so I just did much about nothing. I have studied other religions to some extent but not constantly probing in any way. If you could find indisputable proof that Christians are wrong I would rethink what I believe. As of now nobody ever has and I doubt they could. Lots of atheist say its stupid took take some things on faith, but in the same breath they take their so called scientific arguments on faith. "The Big Bang Theory" Evolution, these are both theoies and not proven facts. You take it on faith that its true, what makes that any diffrent than Christian's faith in Christ? To me there is much more proof of the existance of God then the contrary. Its hard to comprehend how you could not look at the human body and think we just happend to be this way by random chance. It takes a whole lot of faith to say, "You know we all just started out as a big boom, the some bactiera and then the monkeys". So I hope this answer satisfies your question. For other atheist that hate me and think Im ignorant, I dont really care what you think of me.

I have a scientific study to do with NASA and time.

This is a secular study that ended up having to use the bibe, old testament, not new, to make their study and their computers able to project time correctly.

Of course, this didnt make a splash on the mass media, but it is real and it proves that this bible that seems hard to believe can be proven truth even to those whom do not want to believe it.

In Green Belt, Maryland. Scientists were trying to determine the position of the sun, moon, and planets 100 years and 1000 years from now. In order to do this they had to plot the orbits through past centuries.

They ran the computer measurement back and forth over the centuries and suddenly it came to a halt. The computer signaled that there was something wrong wither with the information fed into it or with the results compared to the standards.

After checking all input and looking for technical problems and finding none, the computer still came up with the same discrepancy. 24 hours was missing in space in elapsed time.

The mans name to look up and find the information for yourself is Harold Hill, president of the Curtis Engine Company in Baltimore, Maryland . He is also a consultant in the space program.

They found this missing time in the bible, 23 hours and 20 minutes in Joshua chapter 10 verses 12 and 13. And the other 40 minutes in 2nd Kings Chapter 20 verses 8-11. Ten degrees equals exactly 40 minutes, then and now.

The bible is bit by bit being proven by science as truth, even when they do not want it to be. God reveals things in his timing and not ours. We want to understand all right now and this is not how God does things. He does it his way, and like children, we are expected to wait until the timing is right for all things.

I think the resaon I am not looking for anything else is because I am completely satisfied with what I have. Even if I find that I have been wrong when I die, I still would live my life the same way because of the peace in my heart and the joy that is always there. It just seems like a waste of time to me to be searching for something when i already have it. To me scientists are just about the most closed minded group of people there is. You speak of being open to evidence and yet I find all kinds of evidence for spiritual and psychic phenomena in this world and it seems to me that science just closes its eyes to it and only accepts the natural physical realm.

When you've experienced Truth, you really Know it deep inside your whole being!! My personal relationship with Jesus Christ makes my life so complete, fulfilled and gives me inner joy that without my relationship with Jesus could NEVER exist. I can say and will always say I KNOW being a Christian is right! Good for you as a claiming atheist, to being open enough to admit your uncertainty! I do understand how you don't understand how we Christians can know, but we do. We are indwelt by the Holy Spirit who gives us guidance, discernment and comfort and JOY! We all experience happiness as humans, but that only depends on our circumstances, so happiness is an up and down experience for us. But only God thru the Holy Spirit can give us True JOY, that is always with us no matter what our circumstances. Sure, we still feel sad at times and pain in our trials, but Joy remains! You will never feel free, feel joy or understand any of this unless you ask Jesus into your life. Only the Lord can give you this and NO ONE can take it away. Why would I even want to look elsewhere? My faith is securely anchored in My Master God. The Lord is my firm foundation - why my faith NEVER waivers. I truly hope you will ask Jesus into you life. He promises Never to leave us or forsake us. Read the Bible, Pray, repent and the Lord will soften your heart and guide you into Truth!!

F : For a start see: Center for Culture and Science (CSC) www.dissentfromdarwin.org - Darwin is loosing the "market" for the origin of the species. Here, top Scientists from prestigious Colleges and Universities around the world make their opposition against the theory of evolution. Remember; prejudice is a barrier to any truth and you being human will no doubt, have your share of them. As this is the case, there is no real point in presenting the evidence. "Those convinced against their will, are of the same mind still" !

I came to faith because of the evidence someone showed me. I continually look at everything out there and sometimes my faith is challenged. There really is no way of being 100% sure. Just weigh the evidence and go whatever way it points to.

I study about the amino acids who happens to form a perfect line to form protein to combinations of different protein to form a single cell. cells in perfect order and combination to form a living organism.
A DNA contains info or codes to produced a protein. But you cannot produced DNA without the protein first. Who's first?

Earth is in perfect orbit around the Sun. Other planets are in perfect position and order to protect earth. Like Jupiter protecting earth from too much meteors or asteroid.
Our solar system are in perfect position from the center of our own milky way galaxy, too near and too far life will not be possible. Also the sun is in perfect aged to protect our own solar system from other cosmic rays, gases and objects.
Our own galaxy is in perfect position from other billions of galaxies sorrouding the universe.
It is too much for me to think it is all a product of accident.
Aside from other reasons that is too much to be listed here.
I believe in Intelligent design that there is a God who created everything in perfect order.
I believe in Biblical God because of my own personal experiences. It gives me joy, inner peace, reason and meaning for living.
Hopefully you continue studying and research to learn more about life and do not stop from listening on the other side.
