The Boeing 747 is bigger than the McDonnell-Douglas DC-10 as well as Lockheed L-1011. See the website I've cited below for further details, including a fascinating story of Pan Am's purchase of the 747.

Depending on which version of the 747, it's up to 1/3 more capacity than the DC-10.
Just count the number of engines and wingspan!

The 747 is larger in size. It is a two story airplane, has four jet engines, with two on each wing. The DC-10 is a lot smaller, only has two motors, one on each wing. The DC-10 will hold less passengers than a 747 jet. I hope this answers the question like you want,...

.......... of course it is Boeing 747, although DC 10 looks very impressive with the engine on the tail, but the 747 is bigger.

Howard Hughes "Spruce Goose " from the 40s. Was bigger than a 747! Commercially, the 707, DC8 , L10-11, etc. were far larger than a 737. A 737 is not a very big airplane, even the -800 series only holds 130 - 150 or so normally. It's designed for 3500 miles max.
