Kyle ~
My man Rodney is slightly wrong, Teddy's scar is from a knife not a car accident and Teddy's boxing career consisted of ONE (1) amateur fight, he quit because of chronic back problems. Teddy is a bit dramatic and often plays it up for the cameras, who can forget his Oscar winning performance when he took the stool and sat down when he was working Michael Moorers corner "I'm telling you you'll regret not fighting this guy and doing what you gotta do the rest of your life Mike" he should have at least received a Golden Globe.
Donny Lalonde (former world champ) went as far as calling Teddy "A Liar" when Teddy wrote in his book From the Streets to the Ring that he went to Donny's house with a loaded gun.
Teddy's a decent trainer, he was a disciple of the late Cus Damato so he had to pick up a few things here and there but even Cus relieved him from his duties of training a young Mike Tyson and gave the reigns to Kevin Rooney another Damato Disciple, but Teddy does a lot for the sport of boxing like the Dr. Theodore Atlas Foundation named after his father to help people in need. and this Foundation is also sponsoring a Golden Glove Tournament. He's a excellent commentator who gives keen insight to the fight game on ESPN Friday Night Fights.
As far as being a great trainer, Nope those spots are filled by guys like retired boxers Freddie Roach, Buddy McGirt and others.
Thanks for the question Kyle.

Yes Sir Teddy is a great trainer. He is also one of the best things in boxing right now. He champions the right way to do things. He wants a single title for each weight division. He is the real deal. He was also a hell of a fighter back in the day as was another great trainer Freddy Roach. As for Teddy being ugly. Well whatever. He has a scar that runs the entire length of the left side of his face. He got that in a terrible car accident that nearly took his life. He is one of the most honest people around, he has a charity that generates hundreds of thousands of dollars, and there is NOONE that knows more about the history of the sport of boxing alive today. Teddy is the man....

Lol i do remember Teddy in Moorers corner. Teddy was sitting on the stool. "Do you want me to go out and fight the fight for you?" Lol. I think Tyson would've been better off getting back with Teddy. He would've kept Tyson disciplined.

He was shanked in the face when he tried to prevent his own prison rape. After that he got into boxing and had only one amatuer match... against one of the men who raped his booty. He was too tramatized to continue. So he vowed to become a manager and avenge his rape. So he found the baddest rapist/boxer he could find, named Michael Gerard Tyson. But about 2 years into that Tyson also raped him... sad story really.
