I am a jewish believer, so this hits me on all sides, my brothers served in Vietnam, and I know that we are suppose to love one another, but this is not God, and they are not showing compassion, and no wonder so many people don't beleive...naturally God does not need a lawyer either

If you are saved and go to church, I don't think it matters if you go to a Baptist, Pentecost or a non- denominational church to be a Christian. God knows what is in your heart.
But to answer your question, I guess we are people with open minds.

They are Baptist in name only. My personal opinion of that group is that they are trolls, just not online. They incite people to hate and use Christianity as their excuse. When their pastor can use John 3:16 as a reason for hatred, their pastor does not "rightly divide the word of truth."

So, he reminds me of what Jesus said about the Pharisees. They were trained in scriptures and in what God wanted, but they missed the boat when it came to understanding what it really meant. The Pastor of Westboro Baptist Church is a modern day pharisee.

As far as the rest of us, I hope no a other person who claims to be Christian follows that teaching, because God told us that the greatest commandment and the greatest gift are both the same thing - love.

They can make any claim they wish. The majority of Christian denominations including the Southern Baptist convention do not agree with their excusionary teachings. Some Christian groups go so far as to call them a cult and the Southern Poverty Law Center calls them a "hate group"

If you follow their teachings the rest of us are a "Reprobate Nation of the Sodomite Damned" and are doomed to an eternity of damnation as we are not of the "Elect". And that applies to even strict interpreters of the King James Bible because they are not out on the streets of America proclaiming that God hates homosexuals.

I personally think their leader is more than slightly disturbed, but that is MY opinion and I am sure he would feel that a modern-day worshipper of the Hellenic Gods is disturbed as well.

They use Christianity as an excuse to go around protesting at soldiers' funerals and spreading anti-homosexual propaganda. If Christianity didn't exist, they'd find some other reason to hate gays and everyone else.

Hitler claimed to be Christian and that he was doing God's work. Sound familiar?

They are a hate group, so I'd say that makes them Christian.

They're a hate group, not a Christian group.
