My family owns a DDR set, and I was wondering how effective it can be to get in shape. I realize other things are better, like running, but its a fun thing to do, so I wondered if it is beneficial, for example, if I were two do DDR for about 30-45 minutes everyday. Anyone?

YES! I use my daughter's. It really gets the heart pumping..great aerobic exercise :)

yes DDR can be played as a workout.
It works too, but no easy slow songs.
Play on medium or hard that way you will get more of a workout and get better at the game so you can show off your moves to your friends.

i have ddr and yes it is a good workout but should not be used all the time. jumping up and down on your feet and putting pressure on your ankles can lead to future problems and in out of shape people it can lead to overuse

The best workouts are ones you like because then you will continue to do them on a regular basis. As long as you get your heart rate up enough during the workout, you should be fine.

my gf has that game..and when we get playing on the hard difficulty....its more then a workout...especially when you do it for about a half hour
