HI, just learning about hep c, now as my husband just diagnoised,,from my reading you can not get hep c from living with your partner,,is only transmitted through blood to blood contact. They say to be careful with razors, toothbrushes, nail clippers,,anything that might contact blood not to be shared with your partner....also chances are very slim to contact through sexual relations unless is gay sex,,as tissue is usually torn during this method...But to be on the safe side always use a condom in case,,,therefor kissing, hugging, and loving your partner will not give you hep c,,,just be carefull about open wounds, and not to touch the blood, always use gloves when coming in contact with any blood from any one person...hope this helps as there is much on the web to inform you about the virus,,,it's scarey at first but after reading I'am finding out that is not as bad as we think, and there are possible cures for this virus,,that will remove from the body, as not being detectable...hope this helps.

Here are the ways you can contract Hep C

HCV is spread primarily by direct contact with human blood. For example, you may have gotten infected with HCV if:

you ever injected street drugs, as the needles and/or other drug "works" used to prepare or inject the drug(s) may have had someone else's blood that contained HCV on them.
you received blood, blood products, or solid organs from a donor whose blood contained HCV.
you were ever on long-term kidney dialysis as you may have unknowingly shared supplies/equipment that had someone else's blood on them.
you were ever a healthcare worker and had frequent contact with blood on the job, especially accidental needlesticks.
your mother had hepatitis C at the time she gave birth to you. During the birth her blood may have gotten into your body.
you ever had sex with a person infected with HCV.
you lived with someone who was infected with HCV and shared items such as razors or toothbrushes that might have had his/her blood on them.

hcv corpuscles in semen, vaginal fluids, saliva, tears or mucus are not transferrable. hcv is blood to blood only. do not share sharps, ie, razors, toothbrushes, earrings, syringes ect.
