Harold Bloom, the famous literary critic at Yale, said the Old Testament is vastly superior in style, prose, and clarity to the New Testiment. He did not assign grades, but an A+ and C+ are probably what he had in mind. He is a bit biased, no doubt, because even though he was brought up in NYC, he learned Yiddish and Hebrew before English.
