i really do think that men can be satisfied with only one woman. however, they are just like us in some ways. when we see an attractive man, we talk and stare, right??? men do the same. what counts is the one that he comes home to every night. there is nothing wrong with looking. its the touching that makes them slime. think of it this way, you can look at the menu, but you just cant order.

I've been monogamous with my wife now for 18 years. That's not to say that I haven't looked at other women. There's always another woman whose figure is better in some way, or who has a particularly attractive face. There was even a period when we were having trouble when I was seriously tempted to stray. But, in the end, I stayed true.
We men will always 'window shop.' It's only natural. We wonder if there is something somewhere else that we are missing. It also has to do with our instincts. A man wants to plant his seed as much a possible, to ensure the survival of his genes, and a woman wants a man to settle down and provide for her and her children.
But, I've found that by committing to my relationship, I've accomplished much more than I could have on my own. I've matured and grown, as well as achieved some financial success.
I think that men who won't or can't commit need to finish growing up. Children cannot sustain an intimate relationship with an equal.
It sounds like you have been hurt, and you have my sympathy. But there are good guys out there who can commit. Just don't expect them to stop looking at other women. Good luck!

I'm happy with one woman. I wasn't always though. I think you feel the way you do because men are addicted to the chase. As you said no matter how good they got it, they'll throw it away for half of what they had. That applies to some women as well. The problem with these people is that their pursuit of the high of the chase prevents them from ever having a real relationship. If they had one, they would see that there are better things than a quick high off the chase.

I think most men can and are satisfied with one woman. I know that I am.
Biochemically, men are designed for serial monogamy, the establishment of an exclusive relationship with one woman for a period sufficient to support mother and child while the mother is unable to fend for herself. Sociologically we extend this monogamous period by re-bonding with the same female so that monogamy extends for longer periods than absolutely required for continuation of the species.
Promiscuous behavior is purely sociological based on the fact that society can now prevent pregnancy and provide support for single mothers. Although it is now possible it isn't programmed in to be that way.
What I consider aberrant behavior also follows from habituation to the courtship phases of a relationship where psychologically men get conditioned to appreciate only the courtship phase without going on to a deeper relationship.

Some can, some can't. I know some men that ran around like crazy and all of sudden got married. I wonder if they can tame themselves now.

Honestly, I don't think that humans are meant to have one partner for life. There are studies on this, humans are just really sexual creatures but our cultures have formed these ideas about monogomy, and people just aren't like that naturally.
