...on religion? What is so difficult in just accepting that some people "believe" and some people "don't believe"? All these questions like, "why do atheists......?" or "why do believers always...?" seem to be asked, not for "real" answers, but merely to antagonize! What is the point?

I think sometimes the questions that are asked are designed to get a specific answer. That much seems obvious to me. The way the question is framed and the subjective statements made . . . etc.

I try to respond with a thoughtful answer anyway because many people read those questions and answers and as one person who responded here said, maybe in all the playfulness, some truth will slip through.

Force feeding anyone an opinion that is not their own is guaranteed to fail. None of us like to be force fed. So simple, thoughtful and direct responses that are free from criticism would be a better way to get a good philosophical discussion going.

Be blessed.

Though some don't like to admit it, generally speaking, people are hateful towards those that do not have the same opinions as they hold. Christians are guilty of lumping everyone that is an atheist together and saying think think and act in one manner, and atheists and agnostics are guilty of the same about Christians. Christians do it to Muslims and vice versa. The fact is, people don't like others that differ in the way they think. It makes them reevalute their own faith too much, and some people cannot deal with.

It comes out with stupid questions like "why do atheists kick so many chickens" or other retarded questions.

Fact is -- people are crude. lol

Those questions get a lot of answers. Some people like to work up a healthy dose of "outrage". Those questions are easier to answer than more esoteric ones.

I've wondered that myself and I've come to the conclusion it's for sport. Why else would an atheist care? I can see why Christians care, but this is probably not the place to try and convert non-Christians. Plant seeds, maybe.

a million. I had 2 solutions deleted for no longer following the TOS whilst each and each think approximately the TOS is irrelevant to my question. human beings think of that a thumbs down isn't adequate. 2. No. 3. No.

to get people to react to prove a point to have themselves realized as who they are and to raise their own thoughts to the populous, yet some arent attempting to cause harm but are asking basic questions that they want a simple answer to and things get our of hand and people over-react. but im not entirely sure as to what the truest reason would be

I'm not sure I caught the question. Unless you mean the point about this all being ridiculous, but you couldn't have meant that because it's completely obvious.

Or you COULD actually be stating the completely obvious, I guess.

It provokes a response. And sometimes I really WOULD like atheists / theists / dingos/ etc specifically to respond because I want to know something from only them.

That is satan's job. He comes but to steal, to kill and to destroy. That is a deception of satan. I agree. Either you believe or you don't. Why try to demean anyone and if the human race is not civilized? May God Bless U.
