Here - take this pink pill and chill out!

Possibly people respond to others on this forum. If it were full of Hindu's they're be responding to Hindu's. That's how communication works.

This greatly depends on what religion is the majority. I have many friends who are from India who aren't religious at all and bash Hinduism. I have friends on the internet from other Asian nations where the majority are Buddhists and being nonreligious...almost somewhat anti-religious, my friends bash Buddhism. I'll admit I don't see it so much online here, but it's not to say that the religions aren't being "bashed".

For most of the Eastern Religions the biggest problems aren't being bashed, though, it's misinformation being spread. People think that Hindus are polytheists...they're not. They're monotheists (or at most Monistic Theists...depending on just how deeply defined you want to go and what Hindu denomination and sect you are talking about). People still think that Buddhists view the Buddha as God, but they don't. Buddha is just an ordinary man who achieved enlightment and went about teaching his method of doing the same. It is the Hindus who say that Buddha is divine...but this is best understood when one understands that Hindus believe God continually incarnates into the world and the Buddha, like many others before and since, was one incarnation. But that's according to Hindus, not Buddhists. People mistake Sikhs for Muslims and yet they are two completely different religions and ways of life. Jains sometimes get mistaken for Buddhists. People assume that only people who are from India are Hindus and that if you're an Asian you have to be a Buddhist. It's all the misinformation, false assumptions, etc that people of who practice any of the Eastern Religions have to deal with. It may not be bashing, but it can be offensive to be overtly told over and over again that you are a polytheist and when you politely explain to someone that you are not and why you are not and what you actually believe and for them to basically say that you are a liar (they don't use the word, but what they do say summarizes to 'you're lying, I am always right and even though you are an actual follower of the religion, I'm right and you are wrong about your religion and what you believe. I know what you believe not you.")

Many people don't know that much about the eastern religions/philosphies. How can you bash something you know nothing about?

Something else to keep in mind: Buddhists, Taoists, and Confucianists (admittedly, I don't know much about the other faiths/philosophies you list) practice what they preach. The big 3 have a long history of preaching one thing, while doing another.

everyone answers questions in an utmost comical way lol but umm as far as my thoughts go, mainly because these religions are currently nowhere near as violent as others, i mean we have Muslims blowing themselves and other people up just to prove a point, they don't want to convert but destroy every other religion because theirs is right (i know not every Muslim is violent i know this indefinitely there are alot of peaceful Muslims, and it isn't only Muslims that blow themselves up, i was just using a common example) and as for Christians and catholics well look at Ireland thousands and thousands of people are dieing because of the hatred of the minor differences between these two religions, this civil war has been going on for years and years ... and as for the Jews? i don't know why people hate them, i joke about Jews, but its all in joking fun, i really don't care what religion someone is, but i do know that Adolf Hitler had a hatred towards the Jews, whether it be his mothers fault or not, and when he was attempting to come into power was during a time or hardship for Germany, it was just after world war one and Germany was socked with a giant bill to pay off the debts of other countries, they blamed Germany for everything and made them pay, their economy suffered, their government had fallen apart, there weren't many jobs, and hyperinflation ran rampant, so Hitler comes along with an answer as to why this was happening, why Germany was in such a hardship, someone to blame for all that had happened, and his answer was, the Jews, i am not sure exactly how he linked the Jews to the hardships, but i know that's how he got them started with the hatred, and from then on (and even before Hitler I'm not saying he started it) the hatred of Jews has been around. now as for these other faiths? they are more peaceful. they are accepting. they accept other cultures and other religions and just ignore the differences. and due to the fact that they aren't violent some of them aren't even known by the common person, one of my best friends is a white American born German background Hindu. his father converted after a car accident when he lost the ability to use his legs, he figured the christian god had abandoned him and therefore sout out a new religion, naming his son, my friend, Caranaravindados Aupadeva Wolfe/Sirnik haha people joke and tease him about it sometimes but everyone thinks his name is cool and nobody questions his religion nor hates him for it, overall all i am saying is people hate the violent religions that have outbreaks and try to convert and take over other religions and the religions that are non violent are the ones people either don't care about never heard or or just accept...

christianity, judaism and islamic religions have killed in thier God's name, and yet speak of peace. They also get caught up in emotions while arguing that they are the "right" faith.

Buddhism, Hinduism, Tantrics and the like speak peace, and live the peace they preach. They do not contradict their religions by speaking peace in the name of their god(s) and killing those who oppose their beliefs.

Asian and some Indian religions do not "recruit" new membership using fear, as done in Chrisitanity, Judisim and Muslims. They are more likely to live their faith, and let people come to them if they are interested in leaning more.

If you don't give the people something to criticize, they will leave you alone.

This is a very good question placed by you that the comparison of the other religion with Islam. Islam is a religion of muslims who believe on all the Prophets came to deliver the message of Allah (God) to the people of the world. The last Prophet Hazrat Muhammad Mustafa PBUH said that Holy Qura'an is a complete constitution and it covers all the fields of life pass through Qayamat (till the end of this world). The Muslims have to follow Qura'an and pray to Allah for their Heaven (second part of life) where the all question will be ask and rewards on adherece of principles of life adopted as per the directives mention therein and the punishment on non-adherence will be awarded. Extremist will be dealt seperately as per their activities on the merits. We have to follow on the principle of life given the Allah and the Prophet Hazrat Muhammad Mustafa PBUH the last Prophet and his close associates. I, therefore, request all the concern to atleast Qura'an read as a book or its translation available in all the languages in libraries throughout the world.
It is learnt that all the famous personalities have already study this book. I appealed to all concern do not agree to my point of explanation to forgive me if you heart. Regards.

I suspect that the reason is that the mostly English-speaking population of this site simply does not know enough about them to say anything particularly interesting -- or intelligent. I don't. For example, consider what I know about Sikhs: they wear turbans, largely come from the Punjab in northwest India, and are frequently named Singh. And that is not much.

First of all, as an American, the religious in my country are mostly of Abrahamic faiths.

Second, Buddhists don't knock on my door, try to push their beliefs into the science classroom, or legislate morality based on their beliefs.

Third, some would argue that since Eastern religions (excepting Hinduism) don't necessarily require a belief in a god, they are more philosophies than they are religions.

Fourth, you forgot Pagans, who also don't proselytize and legislate and preach and tell me I'm going to hell.

Oh, and Buddha never rained fire and brimstone onto infants and children or commanded that a rapist and his victim must marry.

All that said, I don't believe in their religions any more than I believe in any other religion.

What is there to criticize?

Buddhists - you're just not confrontational enough?
Sikhs - always standing up for the downtrodden?
Taoists - eh, I got nothin... lol

Islam and Christianity impose themselves on others, and Judaism is hated by them for resisting so well for all these centuries.... Most other religions are not as pushy as the big two...
