I have recurring blisters on my left foot only. These are not friction blisters, and when they are punctured, there is a small amount of watery fluid that escapes (possibly some infection, but hard to determine visually). When the skin is lifted away from the site, there appears to be a rather deep hole, extending through the skin and into the flesh.

This problem has been ongoing for quite some time (several years) and generally doesn't impair my mobility. The blisters usually appear in groups of two or more (often 5 or 6 together). The blisters occur mainly on the sides of the foot and after an episode, the skin is tough and dry at the site of the blisters. An itching sensation usually accompanies the blisters.

Sounds like a fungus. Usually it can be cured with an antifungal/ athlete's foot medication. To be safe, I would check with your Dr. to make sure it isn't something more serious.

I had that once, but I got rid of it...I peeled away the skin, and there was some sort of thing that was deep within the flesh. After I pulled it out, and a week or two passed I no longer saw them.

But my best suggestion is that, to go see a doctor!

You, my friend need to have that looked at as it may be a type of fungus, but to be sure see a podiatrist, or a skin specalist.
