No, it doesn't actually lock. It has a very strong hold and won't let go once it has a hold of whatever it is.

BTW...no dog has a locking jaw, just a strong one!

No. Pit bulls most definitely do not lock their jaws. Pit Bulls have an amazing "drive" and "tenacity" about them. Most all terriers have that same drive and tenacity. To be honest, it's not that pit bulls lock their jaws, pit bulls just simply do not want to lose. I have two pits and when they bite down on a rope it's super hard to get them to let go....its just because they are fierce athletes and they simply dont want to let go! I hope that helps you....pits are actually very fun dogs to own! If you enjoy playing rough and owning a dog that will love you forever....buy or adopt a pit!

Actually like mentioned above they dont have lock jaw. Also another myth is that pitbulls have stronger jaw strength then all other dogs. In most studies they have shown no significant power over other mid to large sized dogs.

lock jaws are only a myth. It was believed they did because of the power they have when they bit someone but it turned out, they only have f*****g good jaw muscles!
