She's almost 9 months old. And I feel like she has had her period for a long time. Not sure exactly but at least 3 weeks. She's really swollen. Although her bleeding isn't as heavy now she still spots. My vet told me to wait till she's done to get her fixed but I was just wondering if anyone knew if this was normal? Is something wrong if she is bleeding for so long? How do I know when she's done? Also does anyone know if her vagina will go back to normal?

General rule is 7 days coming in heat, 7 days a female will stand for breeding, and 7 days going out of heat...so yup...just about 21 days. Her privates will go down but may be not excactly like they were before. I have been around training and raising show dogs for years and if you go by that rule she should be done. If she is still having a clear drainage it could mean an infection if it has been past the 21 days. Your chi sounds normal to me.
