Okay so I'm getting baptized as a convert into the LDS religion on Friday and I have a stupid question:
Do I have to get my own clothing or will they provide it?

I'm kind of shy around people. I don't like asking people things face-to-face because I can see their facial expressions.

Already answered, but I must add to bring towels, a brush, a blow dryer (if you want) and Sunday clothes for after. It's such a wonderful experience, revel in it. I sort of rushed through the whole drying off and changing clothes part when I was baptised because I wanted to see the movie they were showing those who attended while I got ready for my confirmation. And while it was still a very special and spiritual experience, I sort wish I hadn't rushed through part of MY special day.
Congratulations, by the way. And thanks for your quesiton.

First congratulations, this is one of the most important decisions you will ever make. They will provide it for you. If you are a female and feel weird talking about it to a man talk to the relief society president. Do not go out and spend money on something you will wear only a few minutes as they have the clothing you need.♪

You already have a lot of good answers. They do have the baptismal clothes there already. In the case of someone who is very, very large, there may be a limited number of clothing items. In that case, the person might want to bring their own white clothes. This is speaking from personal experience as a missionary in Puerto Rico. Congratulations on your baptism, and I send you a virtual gummy bear.

You could probably buy your own, but it's not necessary, they should have baptism clothes for you. I suggest getting there a little early so you have enough time to get ready and then sit and relax. Don't worry about what the missionaries/leaders might think, they'll be happy to help you!

you need to dress in completely white preferably - and modestly. anything else they should give you - why not just give the bishop or the missonaries a call and confirm this with them?
Shop for baptism clothes. (Suit/Dress, white shoes, socks, slip/tie, white underwear, etc.) Some people like to have two white dresses / or suites … one for the baptism itself, and a fancier one to wear during the rest of the service.

hun i've added a couple of sites for you

They provide it. Don't you have the missionaries' or other members' phone numbers? You can feel free to call them to ask them questions. They are always more than willing to help.

I don't know, really, I think they may have some white outfits around...I wore a big, frilly, dress, and had to be baptised three times because it kept floating to the surface...

(((smartypants))) I know, right? =0)
