my total cost for this semester was about $6000, i got a phea grant for $1000, pell grant for $2000, and i just signed up for the stafford loan this semester which is supposed to be $2625. so far only half of it came. my balance should be $1631.50, that i still owe...but i got a check from the school for $800....should i save it because they might ask for it back to pay the balance...? im confused & i want to sepnd the check

You should contact the Bursar's Office at your school to see why you were sent the refund check. Maybe your are receiving some additional assistance that you were not aware of or are not being charged for something that you should be. The best answer to this question is to contact your college.
