I tried doing lighter weights and increased reps by 250% to get in tone. I did around 7 sets and now my muscles hurt so bad. It has been hurting since yesterday and I got over 10 hours of sleep, and I tried stretching my arm until my elbows lock but it hurts to stretch so I'm not able to lock my elbows. What does it mean when your muscle hurts after working out?

It is probably due to a build up of lactic acid in your muscles, if they feel sore. Lactic acid is a compound formed during anaerobic respiration of the muscles (where your muscles don't get enough oxygen) and is perfectly natural. It causes a change in pH of your muscles, so your muscles don't flex as well and they start to feel sore. Just give your arms more rest, and go back to working out after a couple of days. Get really good sleep, and possibly do a different type of exercise, like jogging, and eat a well-balanced diet.

It means that you gave your body a good workout. Stretching immediately before and after workouts are a good way to lessen soreness. Also warming up a little bit before lifting the weights like a short jog just to get them warmed up. When you first start working out and you work yourself out hard enough your muscles are going to be sore regardless but stay in your routine and you will be a lot less sore after a few weeks. good luck!

that's a sturdy factor. it is your physique rebuilding and strengthening the muscle after it became strained by utilising your exercising. once you're youthful, it hurts the following day after exercising consultation. As you get older and your physique responds greater slowly and can't heal as rapid, it would not harm until eventually 2 days later, even 3 days later.

Means you got a good workout. If they didn't....you weren't straining them enough. Lighter weight with increase reps are the best for toning.......which you're doing right. It will take a while for your body to get used to the duration of your reps. You're on the right track......stick with it........as the saying goes......"No pain.....no gain".........Good luck

It means that you are building muscle..the pain is caused by a lactic acid buildup--it'll go away.

its means your work out if working, because what you do is tear the muscle, so then it adjust and rebuilts, then you tear it again and adjust, and that is how you get stronger so what is happening right know is your body is adjusting and you are sore
