Dear how can being black has anything to do with Buddhism. No, I am sure if you go to Buddhist temple the monks and other Buddhists will gladly accept you.

Don't be afraid, Buddhism is all about compassion, tolerance, forgiveness etc.. We won't put you down for your skin color.

When I was in high school I started going to a Buddhist "church" in my area. Most of the people were white. But we do not have a large black population here. Everyone there was really nice, Im sure you wont have any problem

Without the weired stares... Nope, you can't. People will think that a black Buddhist or Taoist is something to stare at. People think in cliches. Whatever is a cliche is normal. A black Buddhist/Taoist is NOT something that people are used to see.

Race does not dictate what goes on in your mind. If others don't like it, oh well. I don't know of any teaching whatsoever in those philosophies that has anything to do with the race of its followers.

Anyone can convert to any religion that they so choose. The only thing you need is desire to follow that religion. People will talk regardless, so ignore them

Anybody can be Buddhist. It's a religion, not a race.
