A warrant will not expire. Once it's on the record it stays until it is cleared up. You might want to clear it up before you go to renew your driver's license, or DPS will make you take care of it on their terms. If you can't afford the ticket, talk to the courts and work something out, or wait until they perform the local warrant roundup, and show up to the court to take care of it. The week they perform warrant round up, they offer reduced prices to encourage people to clear their outstanding tickets.

If a judge signed a warrant for your arrest, then it lasts forever until you are arrested on that charge.
