As Calla has already said, when you donate in Canada they do it for you right there.
But, I also know that when you are born, they take a blood sample and its usually in your health booklet. My 2 daughters and myself are A+.
If you have nothing like this in your area, then you can go to a private clinic and request a blood test to find out.
It is very, very important that you know your blood type.

You can either have it checked by the Red Cross, they will take some blood from you and have it sent to one of their labs to be identified. Another option is that you could make an appointment at your doctor's office and your doctor could have some blood drawn and sent to a lab to see what type of blood that you have! I am being serious when I tell you that it is CRUCIAL that you know what your blood type is in case of an emergency, you can get a blood transfusion if you lose alot of blood from an accident or you get really ill.

Ask your doctor for a blood test to see what blood type you are. I know that here in Canada if you go in to donate they will do it there.
