So why do people still believe in these legends or myths. The world was going to end a hundred time before (6/06/66, Y2K, ect.)and Jesus or Muhammed will rise again. Why do people still believe these fairytales? Is it lack of self-esteem or lack of self confidence? please explain your thoughts.
Please don not post any mumbo jumbo on how you've seen Jesus, or how the Bible or Khoran is proof, because it's not! I want to see answers from a scientific or realistic point of view. Not a religious.

Many people need to have "Faith" in God, or something like it, in order to give their lives meaning and purpose - to believe that this life is not all they get, that there is something "more beautiful" and "more loving" than this world. Faith gives people comfort and reason to hope - whether you "need" it or not, does it do any harm for society to allow people their choice of finding peace and comfort? I don't think so!
Oh, by the way - I personally don't believe in God. However, none of us knows everything there is to know in the Universe - so I could be wrong. My point is - anyone who has a "belief" system - it is their personal choice - so what "threat" or "offense" is it to anyone else? If we all could find something to give us hope and love and peace - the world would be a much better place.

Not everyone believes that they know when the world is going to end, friend. In fact, the teachings of Christianity are that man knows neither the time nor place.
Those that claim to know when the end times will be (precisely when, I mean) are either kooks or they are trying to sell you something. Either that or they enjoy poisoned cool-aid.

Also, I'll have to apologize to you, religion is based on faith alone. Nothing else. However, if you need proof, just look at science itself. There is no way that such a universe came into existence by itself. If it had been without the loving hand of God to guide it along its way, chances are too great that the universe would have split itself asunder seconds after it came into being.
I mean, look how hard it is to get an omelet to turn out right sometimes! And you think something as complex as the world we live in can survive without some sort of divine influence?

Well you asked to not say anything about the Bible. So I won't. I will say that the dead sea scrolls are proof. I will also say that it is science that is making you disbelieve the truth. If you think that the world was going to "end" on Y2K then your a fool. There is no set date on the "end." This isn't a bag of chips with a born on date. We all work on Gods time. I can offer you no scientific proof that Christianity is real. All I can say is what does is hurt to live your life for God the way he wants you to. So the world ends and there is no God.......you lived a good life believing in something that was dear to you. What does that hurt? I happen to believe in God, the one true God. If I get to wherever I am going and there is something else then oh well I lived my life for God. Stop wondering if there is a God and just believe, trust me its the best thing that will ever happen to you in your life. If it is real and you didn't believe there is no redo, there is no press start to continue.......its off to hell to burn in an eternal death.

No we have many physical evidence that can prove that chistianity and islam are real.We can see the tombs of many prophets that has been spoken in the holy qur'an such as the tomb of Moses,David,Solaiman,Ishak,Jacoob etc and the Asqa mosque in Yerusalem.I saw the tomb of Su'aib prophet and Kahfi cave and Moses museum in Jordania that are spoken in the holy qur'an too.I saw the tomb of Muhammad pbuh and his close friends in Madinaa..I saw Mesjidil Haram at Mecca and its Kabaa the central direction for muslim prayers.I saw also in the museum at Cairo Egypt the evidence of Fir'aun king thai is spoken in the holy qur'an..I saw also the tombs of muslim hero in the Uhud war at the outer part of Madinaa.The old holy qur'an can be seen in the museum also...I saw also the dead sea which its water full of salt in Jordania .It is spoken also in the holy qur'an.So what kind of evidence do you want ?The holy qur'an is not a legend or myth or fairytale it is in reality.I do not lack of confidence but I have a full confidence that Islam is real and God is really exist..The process of a baby in the womb and the process of the creation of this universe by God which have been explained in the holy qur'an can be explained scientifically with the knowlegde of physician and the big bang theory.

Has any archaeological evidence ever proven the bible wrong? No it hasn't. Is there proof that Jesus never existed? No, quite the contrary. Is there proof that God doesn't exist? No I don't think so. this may sound "foolish" to you, but A person must be willing whole-heartedly to accept Jesus Christ as lord and savior, and to admit for their sins and ask for forgivness. this way the holy spirit may reveal to you Jesus Christ.
