you said your cat had a slight bladder infection. While she had it, peeing would have been painful for her. She is not peeing in her litter box becuase she now associates the box with pain. What to do? Get a new box and put it in a new place. Let the box look as different from the old one as possible.

My dad's cat started doing that when he would get very stressed out at his old age. For instance if my dad left for more than a day even if other people were checking up on the cat he would act out and pee in different areas. have you changed your routine recently she might just be stressed out- you can tell if her coat is really shedding or if she isn't eating or if she is peeing in obvious areas like your bed or your favorite chair? is the cat on steroids because that is a big side-effect due to the increase fluid intake? or maybe she is in pain somewhere in her body or she has a problem that is causing his bladder to be uncontrollable like pregnant, or maybe even a tumor that is pressing on her bladder.

Buy a new box. After 8 years, the smell of the box irritates her nose.

If that doesn't work, ask a vet. They'll answer you for free.

that can happen with cats. buy urinary food. we get purina one dry food with the pink label - no by products!

keep her box really clean, wash it out and put baking soda in the litter to kill the smell

when you see her going outside the box pick her up and put her in it, and maybe put a litter box in the spot where she goes if she goes in the same place

if nothing else helps, take her to the vet

Cats, in my experience, wll sometimes become nervous in pee in places where their owner's scent is. She could be nervous, or feeling ignored. Has anything changed recently in her life/schedule?
