Why do you think they want what is best for you? Come on... Think hard, it will come to you. Maybe because they love you. What a stupid question.

So you can have opportunities later that you would not otherwise have, or as a famous man once said:
"You have to be willing to do the things today that others won't do
In order to have the things tomorrow others won't have."
I'll tell you what: an average of 94 in high school can translate into (real example) a college scholarship of $10,000 a year. Multiply that by four and you get $40,000. If you do not get that scholarship, you will have to borrow that money and pay it back. You want to start your adult life with $40,000 more in the hole?
Education opens doors and that is a fact. You will be competing with the rest of the adult world in this nation for a job. You need to be better than the other people who apply. You don't get that by sitting on your but playing video games.

They want what's best for you and see you achieve. EVERYBODY that neglects their chance at an education ALWAYS regrets screwing up!
Only you can do it. And you do it for yourself, not your parents. And years later, you will say to yourself; "Boy. I'm glad I'm not a dummy."

(And I seldom need the spell checker.)
