Do some research on panic attacks & show your mom the results. Tell her if she's not willing to get you help that you will call a social worker & ask for help yourself. It doesn't matter if you're poor, there are mental health clinics everywhere.
Good luck, Dear.

This is something you really should look into. Panic attacks and anxiety attacks are very real and should be given the attention that any other medical issue is. There are some counselors and therapists that offer a first session for free. They will attempt to get to the root of your anxiety/stress/panic attacks and if medicine is necessary they will let you know.
I can tell you this though. If you feel like you are having a panic attack, the first thing you may want to do is excuse yourself from the room and maybe go to the bathroom where you can be by yourself. Once you are alone, just relax....focus on your breathing, and try breathing very slowly...don't think about anything else except your breathing. Do this for about five minutes and you should start to feel a little better.
Good luck to you!

No wonder you are having panic attacks if you are living your life in fear. If you ruin your life through fear of terrorism then they have already won. They only do these attacks so people will fear them. If I was you I would become a diplomat and learn ways to persuade people to help each other that way people won't become terrorists and you will have nothing to fear while on transport. I myself have suffered from panic attacks and know what a pain they are. The best thing to stop getting them is to be positive and believe in yourself. You can make things better and make a difference if you believe you can.

Social phobia can cause panic attacks when placed in a frightening social situation.

Cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/cognitive_b... worked best for me. I suffered from social anxiety for over 15 years. I've tried meds, individual therapy, and group therapy and studied psychology for 10 years, as a profession, but also with the hope to cure myself.
Depending on your comfort level, you could go to a psychologist that practices CBT and specializes in anxiety disorders, seek a group therapy, or create one. Usually those that do attend the group therapy are a bit more high functioning because as you know, it can be difficult to speak in a group.
Another idea is to see if there are any local research studies being conducted that you could participate in.
The program that finally worked the best for me is this one: http://www.socialanxiety.us/findinghelp.... and I was lucky enough to have a structured behavioral group to go along with it. Sometimes the people that actually attend this program come back home and form groups.
Any questions, let me know ... I can't tell you how much this has improved my life!

You might have a good reason why you feel this way, sometimes people can get a feeling and not know why till later. Once I was in Georgia and I knew I had to get home, when I got there I found out a good friend of my folks passed away and my mom needed me.
Pick up some St. John's Wart, it is herbal medicine it does tend to calm you.

Talk to your school counselor if you need to and it will make you feel more comfortable. There are local mental health agencies that go by your income or if your on state aid and you dont have to pay for it.
Do NOT push yourself so hard to stay with people at night when you do not feel comfortable. You are not a idiot. There are reasons that you are feeling the way you do and there is help out there for you.

see a therapist to help you figure out the root of the problem...maybe there's something underlying these panic attacks.
if talk therapy doesn't work...go for a medication evaluation.
