yes, and jews are black too. the current population of jews are descendants of European converts. The original Jews are probably black.

He could have very well been. This reminds me of when I was teaching a Bible Study for young children. I had the 4 and 5 year old class. I just love this age, they are so Innocent and so eager to learn and will say what is on their mind. At the closing of class we always had a simple craft time pertaining to the study of that day. On this particular day I had the children color a picture of Jesus. I told them to color Jesus the way THEY see Him and how THEY think He really looked. I pointed to the painting we had on the class room wall of Jesus. A typical picture of Jesus with fair skin, auburn hair, and blue eyes. One little girl in class with pretty blond hair said I think He had blond hair so I'm going to color His hair yellow. Another spoke up and said black hair and brown eyes. Another little boy spoke up and said "I bet His hair is gray by now"! It took all I had to keep from laughing. But, this little guy was on the right track. Jesus was a Jew. There are a lot of dark Jews and there are a lot of light complected Jews. But few are really fair skinned with blue eyes. Now considering Jesus as a boy worked with His father Joseph as a carpenter. Then He walked the desert for 3 years when He grew up. This means He spent most of His life out doors in the sun and heat. Which stands to reason He was certainly not fair complected. I am sure He had a good healthy tan with brown eyes. I see Him as a dark Jew with brown eyes. To me this makes more sense than the typical paintings you see.

Considering the time and place, he probably looked a lot more like Yassar Arafat than the blue-eyed, flaxen-haired pretty boy he is usually depicted as.
The shroud of Turin (now back in the area of speculation since the carbon-14 samples were taken from an area that had been repaired after burning) if it shows him looks like a dock worker, or... how strange.. a carpenter or maybe fisherman. Somebody who worked for a living.

hmmmmm:
Jesus was a Jew from the middle east and their coloring is brown or tan. The race would be Caucasian.
The truth is no one knows, but, the probability is that Jesus was a Caucasian of middle eastern descent.
If you are asking how he would be treated in the United States?
I worked skilled trades in tier one and tier two automotive for ten years. I spent about five years before that in production. In that time I met very few black or middle eastern skilled trades guys.
Skilled trades is a primary source of middle class income.
In my opinion Jesus would have a hard time getting a job in skilled trades in the United States because of his race.
I think that answers your real question better.

Believe Jesus himself not the paintings nor the graven images. Those are done by carpenters or painters who are imagining what Jesus look like. Do not pray on those man made images. Those are lost Roman Catholic members

At the time of Jesus a lot of jews were black or close to it. He came from an area that was known for the darker skin.
I dont care if he was green, He was the Messenger of God to the jews and gentiles alike.

He was born in Bethlehem.Bethlehem is in Palestine, so he is Palestinian. There are no Black Native Palestinians. He isnt Jewish his mom was Jewish and thats a religion not a race plus there are Arabs who are Jewish. I am not saying he is Arab because Arabs from Arabia did not arrive to Palestine at that time. He is whatever ethinc group was there then. But I like to think of him as just being Palestinian. Palestinians and Lebanese are the few countries who have alot of their inhabitans fair and blue eyed. I have hazel eyes and fair skin and my family is majority green eyed and soem blue. SO he probably looked white

I don't think he was black, but I don't think he was white either. As you said, common sense ........ it stands to reason that since he was a Jewish man living in the Middle East, he resembled those in the Middle East today, particularly Israel and Egypt.

As in Afro Black? No, he wasn't. Jesus was a Jew, and lived in a time before SPF, and was a carpenter, so he worked outside without protection. He got tan, yes, but he wasn't a Brotha.

We are certain of one thing... HE was NOT Caucasian. No matter what the painting looks like. That is NOT HIM! I am of caucasian descent and I realize that. I do not know why they continue to do so. It is certainly wrong, don't you think? I DO. Have a great week.
Thanks,
Eds
