I just picked up my little 4mo old kitten from the humane society today. His name was Gilligan, but my husband and I don't like it. Our friend suggested Han, and I was thinking maybe Hersey since he is silky black color.
Does anyone have any good suggestions?

Hersey's a good name. O.k hes silky and black or almost black right. So if i was you i would name him something like MidNight, But thats my opinion. Hope that helps.

Short names are always good...
Maybe Shadow, Eclipse, Blackie, or Patchy for pet kinds of names that match him.
You could be ironic and name him Snowy or Tiger.
A human name for a cat is good too.
You could name him after a close friend you'd like to honor, or in remembrance of someone.

Ebony, Satin, Licorice, Midnight, Briquet(charcoal for the bbq-it's black and the name sounds French)

hersey is a good name or midnight even. I also for black cats like the name panther or preston I have a black kitten who looks so handsome and prince like I named him Preston sounds richy and handsome to me.

I know they are all silly, but these are the names that I have given my male pets before. :-D
But since he's silky black, maybe Midnight or something.

my fave boy name is Jake i love it. I had two boys once names jake and vinny. they were my little italian trouble makers LOL. i thought it was cute. But there is no limit to what there name can be. My cats name now is Zoey i thought that was unique till i was at the vets teh other day LOL! but give hime somethign unique
