Can you delete languages from the language list found in the tool bar?

I want to do this because if you're from an english speaking (non-American country), you firstly have to be told that numerous words you spell are incorrect (even after you spell them correctly - for the language chosen) and many words that are incorrect (for the chosen language) are marked as correct. MS make it very difficult for non-American english users, are there alternative progams?

Btw, I have already changed my setting to UK, Aust, NZ, Hong Kong, whatever... it doesn't matter.

I have been on the MS website and have just found out that you can delete every other language except American... very helpful, especially since the heading for the page was"How to delete unused or UNWANTED languages" very pi$$ed off! They then got a letter (which they won't read) with words like coloUr and organiSed in it :)

I'm not in America, I'm in Australia. I'm not writing letters, I'm trying to use my computer correctly. MS is an American company that doesn't allow me to do so...

As for "When in Rome, do as the Romans do" if they're selling a product in another country, why is their language the only option for the global community? (English language packs don't work).
Only non-Americans answer please, I don't have anything against American people, but you won't know what I'm talking about... Thankyou for your concern.

i wish you could cause i wanna do that too. no matter how many times i set it to australian english, it constantly reverts back to american without my knowledge. it is really frustrating. i know it is fairly easy to change it back to australian english, but sometimes that wont work at all and will revert straight back to american. i wish i could get rid of the american spell check as well!

I'm not an expert, but it seems to me that if you are writing a letter, paper, whatever which is intended for American readers, you will have to follow the spelling and grammar rules set down for Americans in our dictionaries and Thesaurus.

Your spelling may be acceptable in another country, but "when in Rome, do as the Romans do."
