yes yes and yes. you nailed it in one mate
this is something every religion jumps on to "life after death" when no one anywhere ever promised such a thing. This is just human beings having ego problems and not wanting to believe they will one day cease to exist. Do you recall before you were born? no?well its highly likely you wont be around after you die.
Maybe its the materialism of our consumer society that says we have to own everthing and take it to the grave as to why people seem almost certain we will never ever die and will go to heaven/reincarnation..etc but no one -not god or anyone, said there exists a purly gate anywhere.
Heaven is about experiencing love. Not sex or ranchy moovies, I mean the love experienced by a couple or by a mother to a child or the compassion felt by a one person to another before they run over to help. Heaven is about forgetting the time slip pass and experiencing that brief moment of time where there are no moments. This is heaven, this is what the bible or koran or ... preaches about. Love your neighbour, turn the other cheek, share part of you meal with everyone and feel full with the gratitude and thanks they send back to you through your compassion to offer them your only one fish and loaf of bread. there never were 5000 fishes suddenly, there was one shared and shared with love. Any physiological hunger for a brief moment, ceased to exist as the compassion and gratitude and love took over.
Each religion talks in metaphors abut the same story. How good fights evil and salvation and sanctity is in forgiveness and acceptance and in living today as today. The spirit or God or Allah or whatever is all a story to get us to understand that life works like this and we continue to live when we share, experience and do as you will be done by, respect everything and be humble as you are not in control of everthing- less ego more empathy.
Unfortunatly people seem not to have grasped this and to be insted caught up in th notion the "holiest" of them all, the one who takes each word of the metaphore or similie and takes it for its word. I guess mankind hasnt yet grown up.

One has to reexamine the meaning of the word Heaven. My dictionary states the following:
1. the abode of God, the angels, and the spirits of the righteous after death; the place or state of existence of the blessed after the mortal life. 2. (cap.) Often, Heavens. the celestial powers; God. 3. Often, heavens. God (used in expressions of emphasis, surprise, etc.) : For heaven's sake! Good heavens!. 4. Usu., heavens. the sky, firmament, or expanse of space surrounding the earth. 5. a place or state of supreme happiness.
The problem from my perspective is, most people use definition number 1 but heaven can also mean a state of supreme happiness.

a thank you to define the "Kingdom of Heaven" is to be the main loving guy or woman you will possibly be. there is not any inherent conflict between unconditionally loving your self, others and all of God's introduction. in case you reside your existence with love, kindness, forgiveness, exhilaration, compassion and those different techniques than can uplift your spirits and advance your existence, you will discover the "Kingdom of Heaven." Nope. The kingdom of heaven can be within you while the rest of the world is under satan's authority (U.S.A...just a coincidence). Being in heaven means being free from the devil's grasp. To be free in a way that you couldn't ever be in your physical form.

This would be a good question to take to God in prayer and Bible study. Jesus said also, "my kingdom is not of this world." That makes me think it is a spiritual kingdom.
re: the foolish thing. Only people who don't know Jesus think it's foolish. 1st Corinthians chapter 2 tells us that, "The man without the Spirit does not accept the things that come from the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him, and he cannot understand them, because they are spiritually discerned."

heaven is where ever God resides. Jesus said that the kingdom of heaven was amongst us, because Jesus (God) "lives" within the person who believes in him, but someday we will see God face to face and witness his true glory.

Your taking a quote out of context. It is within reach of you. Not within you. Same as referring to Christ who is in your heart. Physically no, spiritually, YES
