Has anybody ever heard of people who do this? Supposedly it lets more oxygen get to your brain which lets you achieve a higher level of conciousness and think more clearly and deeply.... How safe is it and how many people actually do this?

Oxygen does not get absorbed superficially as it contacts the brain. Oxygen must be delivered internally via blood to the brain for any absorption to take place. Anyone who does this is not sane.

Thats the silliest thing I have ever heard. Only a fool would fal for that, lol. If one wants more oxygen to get to there brain do deep breathing exercises or drink a 6 oz glas of water non stop till its all gone . Both of these will give more energy and ample amount of oxygen to the brain. Besides that our bodies are designed to process oxygen through our lungs.

urban legend. those who do it are either idiots or professionals who are trying to relieve pressure in the brain sustained through trauma.

don't do it.

and no it doesn't work that way. oxygen to the brain is absorbed through the circulatory system, via the blood.

Oxygen comes from the blood supply to your brain...NOT from the outside of it.
