Water, Get your Fresh Cold Water here...10$ a glass...for Fresh Water!

It won't be pretty in those areas where they are dependent on glacial melt.

People complain that global warming isn't REAL, ok, when Pakistan or India or Iran or some other combination go to war because country A has water and country B does not, we'll,see how REAL it is.

Practically speaking, It's not about the polar caps necessarily it's about not having to huddle down and accept a 3rd world standards of provision/living throughout the world - including Europe and the US when it comes to water or energy use.

Jarred Diamond's book Collapse discusses the questions surrounding what happens when civilizations have run out of "inexhaustible" resources before, trees in medieval Europe or Japan, coal in Imperial Prussia, or oil in Maeji Imperial Japan.

One topic not discussed in Diamond's book is the root of most wars in the last 500 years are NOT religious or even necessarily political but have largely been the result of resource based conflicts.

Currently there are relatively mild restrictions on water in Australia, the US Upper Midwest but these are just mild in comparison to what will be necessary in the future.

Consider the results as seen in the the Pre-Columbian Southwestern US. The evidence is tragic and clear and all around if you care to look.

When the Greenland glacier melts into the Atlantic the overwhelming probability is that the freshwater influx into the current there will overwhelm the Gulfstream saltwater current and shut it down. The Gulfstream is responsible for bringing warmth to the northern latitudes and regulates the weather in the British Isles and No. Europe, at the very least. Things will get very cold . . . and don't think that doesn't work with global "warming," it's completely logical.
The Gulfstream feeds into other currents and no doubt they will be seriously impacted as well.
This planet has developed simply amazing systems of regulation over the eons and the glaciers are an integral part of this... we are mucking about like bulls in a china shop

If there is no more glaciers, then we can assume that all of the water that was held in the ice at the arctic and antarctic will have melted
which means most of the earths land mass will be covered..
by water!
Human existance will be pretty much wiped out.

have a nice day.

Pfft. Water level won't rise nearly that much. And with Antartica actually getting cooler, I wouldn't start building an ark just yet.

Wll depends did they melt or were they taken away, because if they melt they would flood Earth, but if they were taken away then nothing would happen.
