I work in an animal hospital. Most of them seem to go between the ages of 12-18, but some live to be 23 or 24. These ranges are for well taken care of, indoor cats.

My cat was 22 and 1/2 when she was euthanized right after Thanksgiving. I had her only seven years and she lived the first 15 years of her life totally outside. Though she was fed regularly she did not have the best diet for a cat (lots of cooked human food). I treated her for hyperthyroidism and she lived with me for her remaining years. She had pretty severe arthritis and her kidneys just really shut down on her at the end.
So she was over 100 in human years and though I wish she could still be with me I think it was her time to go. If a cat does not develop cancer most of the problems of senior cats can be treated medically. I think for a cat to live to 18 is probably pretty remarkable as that's the equivalent of 80 years or more in human life.

Well my persian is going on 13. Most cats live about 15 -17 years but there were some cats at the clinic I worked at that were 20, 21, & 23. It really depends on the cat and its health. Hope this helps

An indoor cat can live around 15-20 years. I have had a couple that have made the high teens (both 18). But that is a lot like asking "how long do humans live". It varies with every individual.

The average life expectancy of a cat is 15-20 years although some cats have lived well into their 20s.

Cats are known for longevity. "Kitty" my neighbours cat is 17 years old. She has our cats respect. A happy lean cat lasts a long time. As mere mortals we pretend to know what is right for our cats. They're all correct. Hairballs occur when the weather warms and they shed. My cat has long hair and she is having hairballs. The solution is to brush her daily and give her salami bits ... By the way "Kitty" is 119 years old in human years .. and patrolling my neighbourhood !!!

usually mid teens, but many cats live into their early 20s. There was a cat that lived near my aunt and uncle who was about 26, and still patrolled the area, frightening all the dogs! Cats live long lives.
Excuse me while I shoo mine off my pillow...
