he loves vegetables and fruits , i let him have his first blueberrie today.

veggies and fruits are good for your dog.
do not feed raisins or grapes, or avocados as they r on the toxic food list
do not feed the pit of any fruit as so many have been proven to be toxic. blueberries will not hurt your dog just dont feed too many.

i also got a email from the aspca and they informed me that artificial sweetner is toxic to dogs also

Well you answered your own question...your chihuahua CAN and DID eat blueberries! Your question may be "should" he eat them, as in will it hurt him...and the answer is...it is just fine to let him eat some blueberries...but I would be careful if he poops on the rug because the stain would be terrible.

yes that would be very good but not too many because there is and acid in blueberries that CAN cause a wee tummy ache for animals.

My dogs are now 13 and 15 years old. They both absolutely love fruits and berries. My oldest dog will eat a banana out of the peel if you hold it (slightly unpeeled). They only get fruit occasionally as treats and don't get any other table food.

Dogs in the wild eat fruit and berries. Mine have eaten fruit and berries all their lives and haven't had problems. Ask your vet if you have concerns.

It's ok but don't give him too much. Maybe at the most 2 a day. Alot of blue berries could make his stomach hurt!

watch out, some fruits are very acidic. DOGS ARE CARNIVORES! THEY LIKE MEAT.

blueberies are fine if fed in moderation.
