We all know what we're doing to try to stop global warming. What if the data pointed to us about to enter an ice age instead.

What would we be doing about it?

Would politicians encourage us to polute more?

Just a fun thing to think about it from the other side. Maybe your suggestions could be reversed to stop global warming instead.

Thanks for the answers. Look forward to reading them.

Great question, and you know somebody's going to answer your question by branding you a heretic and asking you to leave this planet. And you can't argue with them, because they watched that Al Gore movie and therefore are experts.
We have so little data, that you can pick any from/to time period and "prove" that the planet's warming up or cooling down. Even during the time that we've been taking rough temperature measurements, we've had warm periods and "little ice ages."
If it turns out that we were headed for another ice age, mankind would get the blame again. It happened in the 1970's: it was all our pollution that was causing the colder temperatures of the past several decades. So if that were to happen, they'd tell us that we have to stop polluting because we're going to destroy the planet. It's in our nature. Remember? Ultimately, we caused the great biblical flood.

Hahaha to have fun.... i would say we would need to increase our waste and burn more fossil fuels in order to switch us into global warming instead... then we can stop and let the earth go back to cold (because apparently the natural tendency is toward cold in this case)... then repeat over and over until the earth's crust blows up like a glass of ice filled with ice put in boiling water!! KABOOM!!!! hahaha or we would try to encourage geothermal pollution (like cooling towers used in power plants), which i guess wouldn't be pollution but just more stabalizing.

Pink is not blue. global cooling would require a new set of rules. But humans probably did not do it-pollute-to cool. We would need to still do some of the same things as with global warming-clean up our messes. but we can not make the earth move away from the sun nor closer.

A change of temperature as minute as 2 degrees is dangerous to our way of life Either Way.

We need to live with nature not to overcome or try to domainte it because we depend on nature ourselves to live.

Our way of life depends on consumption which is killing the planet and us
