Wow-- I am always stuck with this dilemna... I tend to be pretty open-minded and generous- which comes across as needy to some men and they run... I try to give a guy space but find at times that its hard because I just want a companion to talk with and spend my time with. It seems, in my experience, in the early stages of dating, a woman has to be cautious and not open up too fast because you dont know what kind of person youre dealing with in the beginning- so maybe its not so much playing hard to get as it is being careful and selective until you know you've got a keeper. Yes, they do like it..as long as you do it and they don't know you're doing it. Most men (i said most shut up) think the same way. If your guy starts getting where he's not trying quite as hard as he should be to keep up his end of the relationship..back off a bit but don't tell him you're doing it. Don't answer the phone every time he calls, don't be available to him every time he asks. They'll pick up the pace a bit after that, it works every time. It's really sad that you have to do that but hey.

Yes to both. Generally girls play hard to get because of the old adage,"Why pay for the cow when the milk's for free?" Also, in the beginning it's all about the chase. Would you really be that interested if a girl was throwing herself on you, blowing up your phone? If you like a girl, pursue it without seeming desperate. If she is responding, keep it up. If she is showing absolutely no sign of interest then move on.

Despite a century of feminism, little girls
are still taught that boys are supposed to
call girls and that girls are weird if they
make the first move.
As they grow up, they discover that society
is much more complicated than that, and
that "making a move" can be extremely
subtle to making the same sorts of
grand gestures that we expect/hope
men will make.
Playing hard to get is supposed to make
the goods seem more desirable. Note that
if the person really isn't interested, playing
hard to get is pointless.
In any case, good communication beats
all this funky courtship hijinx hands-down.
If you want her, go talk to her.

Calling and not responding COULD be part of playing hard to get, but it depends on the girls body language. Like, is she flirty with you in person? Or is she cold? It just all depends on the vibe you get when you're around her.

You can firstly try flirting/teasing but not acting upon it, which seems playful so won't hurt his feelings but will leave him curious and intruiged. Then just slight contact (playful "accidental" bump, brushing against them) and giving them sultry looks (sometimes even a wink) until they're dying to grab you and kiss you. But you can't play hard to get for too long, otherwise they'll think you're cruel and just playing them around. Good luck!

it could be but at the same time it her not answering or responding could mean shes just not interested. but yeah i think a lot of girls do play hard to get personally i think it works though because guys like the chase.

I think that most times (although there are some purposely manipulative people) the girl just doesnt want to seem too eager or just wants to be sure that the guy is genuinely interested rather than actually playing a huge game.

Not calling is playing hard to get. The girl doesn't want to be easy. I think it depends on the individual. Both boys and girls play hard to get in their own way.

Everyone plays hard to get (usually) Men do it as much as girls do it, I do not date guys who are easy to get that just means that easy come easy go. Anyways I like a challenge and I think most humens in general love challenges because the reward feels so much better.
