I am doing an essay on marriages, but I can't find any thing about arranged marriages being legal.

Yes, they are legal and if you want a lot of information for your paper go to www.findarticles.com and type in arranged marriages then search. Sure. Most modern arranged marriages still have the consent of the people getting married, that's all that's required in the US.

There is NO law one way or another.

In the US we have Freedom of choice. We don't understand how anyone can even consider an arranged marriage.

In the U.S. the only way it could happen would be if the couple agrees with the decision. Nobody can make you marry anybody in this country.
