My hair generally doesn't hold curl very well, which is why I straighten it every day. But for special events, I like to use hot rollers to create loose spiral curls. My problem is that I have to use a ton of hairspray to get my hair to hold the curl and that makes my hair crispy. Is there another way to maintain curls without applying so much product to my hair?

If you are planning on curling your hair, make sure you don't wash it before. Washed hair doesn't hold curls as well as dirtier hair. Its because when your hair is dirty, its more coarse.
Also, when your hair is in the curlers, try using a blowdrier and blow over each curler with hot air, and then cool air.
The cool air will help it set.
Hope this helps.

I spray in this John Frieda blond stuff first. Before rolling, then after. Seems to do the trick.
