He just jumps up onto the couch and she's resting there and he starts washing her head. What is the deal and he does it all the time.....

Cats are social creatures, so grooming is just one of the many ways they are social with other cats. my male kitten does it all the time to my two female kittens, and I believe it's just a way of showing affection, and a way to be social.
