First of all, I think people should be able to believe and love how they want -- as long as they do not affect others' rights.
Some people only think of themselves, and believe that the world should follow their lifestyle because "it is the best way". Personally, I don't follow any specific religion -- just not my thing, but just because it's not what I do doesn't mean that no one else should.

So, I'm saying some people think it will be easier to follow one religion, speak one language.. follow one belief. People try to eliminate religion so certain groups are not offended. And true, people will have a religion despite the people trying to eliminate it but some do listen. There's a quote that says "Don't doubt that a small group of people can change the world. It's the only thing that ever has." (or it's very close to that, hah). Everyone nowadays wants to follow their dreams and opinions therefore causing the differences in lives today.

I hope this is easy to understand, and I really hope it helps; by the wy, this is coming from a 15-year old with very strong, open opinions :)

Well. Not speaking for myself, but my friend is a strong believer in no religion. She's sitting next to me right now, so I'm just going to let her type.

Hi. Take a look at some major wars and problems that we've had with the world. I'd say a good chunk of them have something to do with religion.

I am a strong independent person and I will not let some rules tell me what I should or should not believe. I will choose to eat/not eat what I choose despite some rules telling me or not. Its up to me.

I strive to discourage the structure of relgion and allow people to believe. After all the power of belief is power in all religion. What's going to happen when you tell people to believe and don't tell them how. The quesion of freedom is a quesion of chaos. When does the cycle return to order. When does it all make sense. I think belief is so deeply rooted that logic will never be able to put it all into a couple of tomes and tell you faith should be like. To understand universal will beyond the will of man. You are right people will still believe, but should they be told how.

There probably will always be religion, which is fine. Certain religions are enriching for certain people and that's something that I would not want to take away from them.

I am not incredibly religious. I do believe in God, but I've never read the Bible or anything like that. However, I respect everybody's right to believe in their own religion (except Scientology, that's just too dumb)

I agree that the world wouldn't be garanteed to be better without religion, but we have never had a world without religion, and the one we have now is a mess.

I personally believe that mankind will always find things to fight over, religion is just how we justify many of our wars. If God says its ok to murder people then it makes us feel better.

A world without religion would be very interesting, I think if it were possible to educate everyone then there might be a possibility to stem the violence, unfortunately it will never happen

Has the world been a better place with religion/s?

Look at all the pretext for killings and wars and where the HELL is the charity today?

the world is still gonna be the same with/without religions bcoz we are talking about HUMAN NATURE here. I am capable of the same evil or goodness, we all are.

Probably because it takes more energy to [dash] [dash] [dash].

Some would think the world would be "a better place" because they don't have a clue what it means to have a personal relationship with the one true God, and salvation of the eternal soul thru His Son, Jesus.

Human nature.

Yes.

People are people. Nothing either side can convince the other that they are wrong. However, at least from the Christian perspective, we are not trying to destroy your future...we are trying to help build it for you.

My favorite quote:
"If as a Christian I am wrong, then no harm is done. But if you as an atheist are wrong, it will make a big difference in your eternity."

I don't really care too much for organized religion, but I definately don't strive to throw it all away. Each religion has valid points about certain issues, but I think it's all a sham.

It has been foretold (I love saying that!) that it will be given to the "beast" (world?) to make war with the saints, and overcome them.
But, don't get too excited when it happens, cuz it ain't over quite yet.

(I know, cuz I peeked at the ending.)
